Hotels for Hiking and Backpacking
Most of the Grand Canyon Hikes and Backpacks start from the South Rim. Grand Canyon Village and Tusayan just outside the park entrance have the best lodging options close by. If you’re doing a Rim to Rim or hike from the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park the North Rim lodge is your best bet. Most hikers staying at Phantom Ranch will hike from the South Rim
Hotels for Havasu Falls
Havasu Falls in on the Havasupai Indian Reservation in the western Grand Canyon. Seligman and Peach Spring Arizona are the closest towns with lodging options for hikers heading to Havasu.
Hotels for Rafting Trips
Grand Canyon Rafting trips start from Lee’s Ferry. Boaters who are rafting the whole length of the Grand Canyon or the upper half should stay in the Marble Canyon area. People who are only doing the lower half of the Grand Canyon stay at the South Rim or Tusayan and hike to Phantom Ranch to meet trips. The only one day whitewater trip leaves from Peach Spring AZ on the Hualapai Reservation. There is one hotel available in Peach Spring and several options up the road in Seligman.
