Trail Description
Walk north along the Kaibab Trail. Just north of Ribbon Falls is an unnamed drainage to the right (east). This is the route to the saddle. The lower part of this drainage appears to be blocked by smooth pouroffs. Leave the trail and climb the slopes and broken cliffs to the left of the drainage. Reach the Tonto Plateau (not really a plateau here) and contour back into the drainage. The drainage above through the Redwall has many minor obstacles that can be passed without great difficulty. There is a small headwall at the very top of the Redwall that requires a bit of climbing. Above this the drainage opens up into a large bowl. Two possible breaks appear in the Supai. Near the top of these move left to reach a saddle. This is a minor saddle between Deva temple (directly left) and a minor point to the west. Brahma Temple can be seen as the large peak ahead and the actual saddle is the low point in front of it. To reach the actual Brahma-Deva saddle contour around to the left beneath cliffs at this level about 300 yards until possible to climb through a break up to the saddle..
The unnamed valley below to the southeast leads into Clear Creek. To drop directly into this valley would end in large cliffs in the Redwall. The head of another gully can be seen off to the right. The route drops into the far side of this gully to reach the broad valley below. It is not difficult to drop off the waddle and valley below. It is not difficult to drop off the saddle and contour to the head of this gully. This gully has several dropoffs that are not difficult. One of these can be passed by crawling behind a chockstone. At the bottom of this gully it is an easy walk to reach the main valley and continue down to the junction of Clear Creek.
Water Availability: There is no water along the tour. Water is perennial at Bright Angel Creek and at Clear Creek.
Campsites: Camping is possible along the route but the best spot would be at the saddle.
